There will be two contested races for the three seats up for election on the Macomb city council.

John Vigezzi, who represents the second ward, is running for another term. He’s being challenged by Amanda Dean.

Two candidates are also running for the at-large position being vacated by long-time city council member Dennis Moon. They are Tammie Leigh Brown-Edwards and Jennifer Hemingway.

Brown-Edwards previously served as an at-large city council member but lost her reelection bid two years ago.

Current city council member Ashley Katz is running unopposed in the fifth ward, and current city treasurer Andrea Henderson is running unopposed to fill the remaining two years of that term.

McDonough County school boards

Five people are running for the four seats up for election on the Macomb school board.

Incumbents Kishor Kapale and Larry Adams are each seeking another term. The others who filed are Lorette Oden, Justice Keene, and Nate McGrew.

The two seats being vacated are currently held by board president Jill Myers and secretary Jim LaPrad.

Also in McDonough County, just two people filed for the three open seats on the Bushnell-Prairie City school board. They are incumbents Brad Beekman and Nathan Webb.

In the West Prairie school district, four people filed for the four open seats. They are incumbents David Taulbee, Steve Kitch, and Mitchell Reed along with newcomer Jamison Rauch.

The elections will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
