Head of Macomb Park District resigns

The leader of the Macomb Park District is leaving.

Executive Director Rachel Lenz resigned to take the same position with the Urbana Park District in eastern Illinois.

Lenz spent 16 years with the Macomb Park District, including the past eight as its executive director.

The Macomb Park District Board of Commissioners is expected to announce its next steps in the coming weeks.

In a release, the park district said Lenz helped expand access to recreation, launched innovative programs, and invested in inclusive and welcoming spaces.
