The man arrested during a raid in Macomb is accused of participating in the murder of a federal witness.
Delrico Nelson, 48, is one of three men charged in the case with conspiracy to tamper with a witness by killing and conspiracy to retaliate against a witness by killing.
The other two men are from Louisville, Ky.
A federal grand jury in Louisville returned a superseding indictment against the men, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Kentucky.
Local law enforcement assisted the FBI in arresting Nelson on Macomb’s northeast side on Thursday, May 8.
No shots were fired, but law enforcement used noise flash distraction devices, which produce a loud bang and flash.
The devices are deployed to confuse and disorient suspects.
