Prosecutors are dropping the murder case against one of the people charged in a Macomb homicide.
In a release, McDonough County State’s Attorney Matt Kwacala said the charges filed against Sean Hayes, 37, of Macomb cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt and are being dismissed.
Kwacala said more evidence and information has come in regarding the shooting death of Bryson Saddoris, 21, late last month.
A preliminary investigation found that Saddoris was shot to death in a home in the 600 block of North Randolph Street.
Kwacala said his office will continue with the case against another suspect, Morgan Bearce, 24, of Macomb.
Bearce is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of obstruction of justice.
A preliminary hearing was held in Bearce’s case on Monday. He’s scheduled to be back in court on Nov. 3.
Kwacala said the homicide case remains under investigation.
