The National Weather Service has released more details about the winter storm that moved through the region late Friday night and all day Saturday.
The agency called it “a long duration winter storm” with widespread snowfall amounts of more than eight inches common. Some locations received more than a foot of snow.
The NWS said this will likely go down as one of the highest snowfall events for any year for the month of November in eastern Iowa, western and northwestern Illinois, and northeast Missouri.
In the TSPR region, snowfall amounts reported to the NWS include:
- 9.3 inches southeast of Macomb
- 9.0 inches in Macomb
- 8.5 inches near Burlington
- 8.2 inches southwest of Macomb and in Colchester
- 8.0 inches in Clark County
- 7.0 inches in Nauvoo
- 7.0 inches north of Burlington
- 7.0 inches near Mooar
- 6.5 inches in Donnellson
To the north, the weather service’s official totals include 12.3 inches in Dubuque, 10.6 inches in Davenport, and 9.2 inches in Moline.
