A man was killed Monday afternoon in a crash involving a car and a semi-truck on U.S. 34 near Wataga.
The Knox County Coroner’s Office says it was notified around 5:20 p.m., and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The crash occurred near Knox Road 2200 North.
Roads were roads reported to have been slick at the time.
The man’s name has not yet been released. An autopsy will be performed Tuesday in Peoria.
Illinois State Police are investigating the crash, and asked drivers to seek alternate routes. The highway had reopened by around 9:30 p.m., according to the Sheriff's Office.
Authorities are urging drivers to use caution as winter road conditions persist in the area.
