Winter weather announcements for Monday, December 1

A winter weather advisory is in effect on Monday, Dec. 1, until midnight. The National Weather Service says two to four inches of snow are possible, and motorists should plan on slippery road conditions.

Weather related announcements for Monday include:

  • Astoria students will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. All students will be fed lunch prior to dismissal.
  • Central Lee students will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. There are no evening activities or Hawk's Place. 
  • Galesburg has issued a snow emergency that will go into effect at 4 p.m. Parking is prohibited on all Galesburg city streets during a snow emergency.
  • Illini West High School will dismiss students at 12:30 p.m. All evening activities are canceled.
  • Monmouth-Roseville will release students early today.
  • Sandburg campuses are closed. They will reopen at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2.
  • Southeastern Community College will close all of its buildings at 1 p.m.
  • VIT will dismiss students at noon. All extracurriculars will be postponed.
  • West Prairie schools will dismiss students at 11:30 a.m. Practices are canceled and games will be rescheduled.
