The Fourth District Appellate Court has upheld the conviction of a former mixed martial arts coach found guilty in Warren County of sexually assaulting a minor who trained with him at a Monmouth gym.
The appellate court also affirmed the 28-year prison sentence for Beau W. Admire.
Admire, 45, was found guilty in May 2024 of two counts of criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, for offenses dating back to 2010 and 2011.
In August 2024, Circuit Judge James Standard sentenced Admire to consecutive prison terms of 10 years on each assault count and eight years on the abuse count. Under Illinois truth in sentencing law, Admire must serve at least 85% of the sentence.
On appeal, Admire argued the trial court admitted improper testimony and committed other legal errors, but the appellate court rejected those claims and affirmed the circuit court’s judgment in full.
