Miller accepts plea deal in Macomb stabbing

Court news from Tri States Public Radio.

The woman accused of repeatedly stabbing a man in Macomb last year has agreed to a plea deal.

Keianna Miller, 38, pleaded guilty to aggravated battery. She was sentenced to 30 months in prison and charged $7,890 in fines and court costs.

She must serve at least 50% of the sentence. She received credit for the 263 days she’s already served.

Miller was in a relationship with Maurice Clay when they got into a dispute on June 6, 2025. She stabbed him multiple times with a steak knife. He was taken to McDonough District Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Miller apologized to the court on Monday for her behavior.

I have to take accountability for my actions,” she said.

Miller said she was in a dark place after her four-year old son, Terrell Miller, was shot and killed by a Macomb police officer nearly two years ago.

“I was on my way to a path of destruction,” she told the court.

She said she has now been redeemed in Jesus’ name.

Miller was not the perpetrator in the case that resulted in her son’s death.

Two internal review panels absolved the officer.
