The search for Galesburg District 205’s next superintendent is officially underway.
The board of education is conducting the search for the next leader to succeed John Asplund, who will retire in 2027 after a decade with the school district marked by significant facility upgrades and improved financial stability.
The board is looking for a “visionary” who will continue the district’s student-centered focus while advancing the district’s strategic plan, according to a release.
As part of the search process, the board is now seeking input from families, staff, and the Galesburg community to build a leadership profile. The survey can be completed online.
