The vice president of educational and student services at Spoon River College will soon serve as interim president.
The SRC Board of Trustees has appointed Holly Norton to lead the college on an interim basis beginning July 1.
Curt Oldfield, who served as president for 14 years, is leaving to lead Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield.
In a release, SRC said Norton has served in multiple leadership roles at the college since 2007 and is well-positioned to provide continuity during the presidential search process.
“Holly’s experience spans nearly every facet of the institution, from academic affairs and student services to enrollment, planning and workforce development,” said Kevin Meade, chair of the board of trustees. “Her leadership and understanding of our college make her exceptionally qualified to guide us during this short interim period.”
Meade said the college intends to have a new president in place in August.
