Two Warren County crashes leave one dead, five injured

One person was killed and five others were injured in two separate traffic crashes in Warren County this week.

According to the Warren County Sheriff's Office, a passenger car and a semi pulling a tanker trailer collided at the intersection of 245th Avenue and 120th Street around 11:40 a.m. Monday. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

In a separate crash, a garbage truck and a passenger van collided on U.S. 67 at 280th Avenue around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. Five people in the van were taken for medical treatment, including two who were transported by helicopter.

Illinois State Police are investigating both crashes. The Sheriff's Office is reminding motorists to drive defensively, avoid distractions, and obey traffic laws, especially as construction-related delays continue on U.S. 67 north of Monmouth.
