Two vacancies on the Western Illinois University Board of Trustees have now been filled.
Governor JB Pritzker has appointed Jose Alba to the remaining open seat.
Alba is Director and Team Lead with Real Estate Corporate Banking, a division of Bank of America’s Global Commercial Bank. He is based in Chicago and oversees a treasury team that manages the company’s largest real estate clients.
Also according to a release from the governor’s office, Alba serves on the Board of Casa Central, and he serves as co-chair for several environmental, social, and governance initiatives at Bank of America. He also coaches wrestling and football for Batavia High School.
Alba earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from WIU.
Pritzker appointed Nancy Paridy to the university’s board on June 1.
Both appointments are pending confirmation from the Illinois Senate.
The WIU BoT had been operating shorthanded since Doug Shaw resigned in December 2024 and Derek Wise resigned a year ago.
The WIU board’s next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16 at the university’s campus in the Quad cities.
