Spoon River College has hired a firm to auction off its former campus at 208 S. Johnson St. in Macomb.
The college’s board agreed to a contract with Sullivan Auctioneers to conduct a live, online auction of the site. The auction is scheduled for Nov. 3.
Sullivan will not be paid a fee or commission, but the board approved advertising expenses of up to $6,500, which will be paid from the Education Fund.
The board has not decided on a minimum bid that it will accept.
The building dates back to 1914 and was originally Macomb High School.
The school district sold it to Spoon River College in August 1983 after the district opened its current high school building at 1525 S. Johnson St.
SRC moved into its new Macomb campus at 2500 E. Jackson St. a year ago.
