There is an opening on the Macomb city council.
Ashley Katz resigned from her seat in the fifth ward.
“A very busy family life has kept her from committing fully to her responsibilities here as an alderman,” Mayor Mike Inman told the city council during its meeting on Oct. 5.
City council members accepted Katz’s resignation letter with regret.
The resignation took effect on Oct. 1.
The mayor has 60 days to appoint Katz’s replacement.
Macomb’s fifth ward includes portions of the city’s southwest side. Copies of the ward map can be seen here.
