Macomb Jr. Sr. High School Lock Down

KHQA reported the Macomb Junior and Senior High School went into lockdown at during the 9 o'clock hour this morning.

During the lockdown Superintendent Dr. Alene Reuschel said the students are in "no danger whatsoever" and that she will make a full statement later this morning.

The k-9 unit as well as police cars from Galesburg were on the scene.

In a statement Dr. Reuschel said the lockdown was not prompted by any specific tip and no arrests were made.

"It's not because we think there's anything wrong going on in our building, but it just affirms the good choices that our kids our making," Dr. Reuschel said.

She said schools practice lock downs and sometimes ask law enforcement to sweep the building during the exercise.
