KEOKUK, IA

The Keokuk Police Department is investigating more than 30 reports of broken car windows.

The first report came in at about 2:45 on Wednesday, August 21.

Police Chief Dave Hinton says the windows appear to be have shot, but the weapon used has yet to be determined.

He says anyone with information is encouraged to call one of the department's detectives at (319) 524-5131.

SPRINGFIELD, IL

More than $110,000 from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency has been earmarked for counties in west-central Illinois.

The grants are to be used for disaster preparation, response efforts or day-to-day emergency management operations.

A total of 121 cities and counties will share more than $4-million.

FORT MADISON, IA

Fort Madison is in the market for a new city seal.

The city is holding a contest where the winning entry will receive $250.

Submissions will be accepted through the end of September.

BURLINGTON, IA

Des Moines County Sheriff Mike Johnstone says a recent $2,100 donation to the county’s water rescue team will go towards a new sonar system or lighting.

The money was raised during a golf tournament held in memory of Jake Boyd.

Boyd was one of four young adults who died in May 2012 following a boat crash on the Mississippi River.
