Culver-Stockton College's Incoming Class at Capacity

One local college can no longer accept on-campus students for the upcoming school year.

Culver-Stockton College had planned to accept applications until August 1, but had to close the process on July 15.

The reason is that the private college in Canton, Mo is expecting an incoming class of about 360 students, making it the largest incoming class the college has seen in 20 years.

Admissions Director Misty McBee said C-SC is working to comfortably house as many students as possible.  The college is renovating several residence halls, even relocating several offices in the buildings to allow for the construction of new rooms.

McBee said students can still apply, even if they want to live on-campus, but they will not be accepted this fall.

"They would just be placed on a waiting list until something opens up, and if they're eligible, then we will go ahead and offer them admissions for the spring semester if they're interested in coming at that time," McBee said.

The college said about 95% of its students live on-campus.

McBee said C-SC plans to build another dorm in the near future to address the housing needs.

She said students willing to commute can still apply until August 1.
