It calls for the teachers to receive a 4% increase in total compensation, which includes salary, benefits and retirement, among others. That starts with a $941 increase in the base pay for teachers, from $33,063 to $34,004.  Veteran teachers could receive larger raises based on their education level and their experience in the classroom.

There are a few language changes in the new contract that covers more than 320 teachers.

  • Teachers will have to attend two fewer meetings each year and they must receive notice of the meetings at least two weeks in advance.

  • Classes should pertain to the content area in which a teacher is teaching or may teach.
