Western Illinois Election Results – March 15, 2016

The region's primaries included few contested local races and just one referendum.  Here are the results:

17th DISTRICT CONGRESSMAN (REPUBLICAN) 

Patrick Harlan – 75%

Jack Boccarossa – 25%

Harlan will face incumbent Cheri Bustos (D) in the November election.

74th DISTRICT STATE REPRESENTATIVE (REPUBLICAN)

Daniel Swanson – 52%

Michael DeSutter – 33%

Wayne Saline – 15%

Swanson will face Bill Butts (D) in the November election.  The winner in November will replace Don Moffitt (R), who is retiring.

KNOX COUNTY STATE’S ATTORNEY (DEMOCRATIC)

John Pepmeyer (incumbent) – 2993 (50.57%)

Jeremy Karlin – 2926 (49.43%)

No candidates filed for the position for the Republican primary.

WARREN COUNTY CORONER (REPUBLICAN)

Aloysius “Al” McGuire – 2224 (76%)

Todd Singleton – 698 (24%)

McGuire will face Julie Corben (D) in the November election.

McGuire has served as coroner since November.  He replaced Bill Underwood, who passed away October 30.

HANCOCK COUNTY BOARD DISTRICT 2 (REPUBLICAN)

(vote for two)

Delbert Kreps – 391 (32%)

Dennis Castlebury (incumbent) – 350 (28%)

Dallas Neff – 295 (24%)

Jeanne Schell (incumbent) – 193 (16%)

No candidates filed for the district’s Democratic primary.

HANCOCK COUNTY BOARD DISTRICT 4 (REPUBLICAN)

(vote for two)

MARK HANSON (incumbent) – 347 (38%)

STEVEN BOLTON (incumbent) – 340 (37%)

MARK MENN – 237 (26%)

No candidates filed for the district’s Democratic primary.

FULTON COUNTY BOARD DISTRICT 2 (DEMOCRATIC)

(vote for three)

Mary Deushane (incumbent) – 930 (30%)

Terry Pigg (incumbent & vice chairman) – 812 (26%)

Gary Hensley (incumbent) – 705 (23%)

Kendall Tucker – 650 (21%)

Deushane, Pigg, and Hensley will face Jeffrey Smith (R) and Warren Potter (R) in the November election.

CITY OF NAUVOO REFERENDUM – ELECTRIC AGGREGATION

Yes – 183 (73%)

No – 67  (27%)
