Many events and activities have been postponed or canceled in the tri states as the region tries to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Some organizations/agencies have made adjustments to their operations continue to serve the public. Here is our latest information.

Amtrak: (clarifying earlier post) The Carl Sandburg line, which runs from Chicago to Quincy in the morning and from Quincy to Chicago in the evening, is suspended until May 31. The Illinois Zephyr, which runs from Quincy to Chicago in the morning and from Chicago to Quincy in the evening, will continue operating as usual.
Argyle Lake State Park: The park and all other Illinois Department of Natural Resources state parks, fish and wildlife areas, recreational areas, and historic sites are closed. All upcoming scheduled events are canceled. A complete listing of state sites can be found here and here.
Buchanan Center for the Arts: Closed until further notice. All classes and events are canceled.
Burlington: The city has issued an emergency declaration. You can read it here.
Burlington Capitol Theater: Closed until further notice.
Burlington Parks Department: All park playgrounds and play structures are closed until further notice.
Burlington Public Library: The building is closed. All library sponsored events, classes, and outreach postponed until further notice.
Burlington Urban Service: Saturday Service has been ended for the foreseeable future. Beginning March 23, 2020, the Burlington Urban Service will alter the bus routes and reduce the number of buses in service. Please limit rides to essential use only and schedule rides further in advance.
Bushnell: The municipal utility front office is closed until further notice. The Bushnell Recreational and Cultural Center has suspended all rentals until April 6.
Carl Sandburg College: All campuses will be closed March 16-20. Starting March 23, as much lecture material as possible will take place online until further notice. More details can be found here.
(UPDATE March 20) Carl Sandburg College has canceled this year’s on-campus Commencement ceremonies, and pinning ceremonies for this year’s nursing program graduates and all other on-campus events through the remainder of the semester also have been canceled. More details can be found here.
Carl Sandburg Days Festival: This year’s event is canceled.
Community Action of Southeast Iowa issued procedures for low-income residents to follow when seeking assistance from the agency. You can read the information here.
Community Foundation: The organization, which serves west central Illinois and northeast Missouri has created a COVID-19 Nonprofit Emergency Response Fund. You can read details here.
Culver-Stockton College: Classes being held online. Residential students have the option of returning to campus or staying home. More details can be found here.
Dickson Mounds Museum and other Illinois state museums: All locations will remain closed until further notice.
Domestic Violence Intervention Program in southeast Iowa has implemented service and protocol changes. Details can be found here.
FBI and the U.S. Attorney for the Central District of Illinois: Issued a joint statement about COVID-19 fraud. You can read the statement here.
Fort Madison: City Hall is closed to public access. City employees will be working and services will continue. These closures will be in effect until further notice. City office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The phone number is 319-372-7700.
Fort Madison Parks & Recreation Department: All shelter rentals postponed. The department will contact renters who have events scheduled. All parks, playgrounds, and campgrounds are closed until further notice. Public restrooms within City parks and all drinking fountains will remain out of service until further notice.

Galesburg: The city has created a COVID-19 Response and Information page with details about city facilities, parks and recreation, services, utility bills, and more. Click here for information.

Galesburg Assessors Office: Is asking seniors and disabled individuals to wait six to eight weeks to file their exemptions. More information can be found here.
Galesburg Area Chamber of Commerce: All upcoming gatherings and events are postponed until further notice. Updated information from the Chamber can be found here.
Galesburg Public Library: Closed until further notice.
Galesburg Township Office: Asking individuals in need of assistance or with questions to call (309)343-9059. The office will remain open from 10am - 4pm weekdays. You can find more information here.
Hancock County Sheriff’s Department: All in-house jail visitations suspended until further notice.
Hancock Village: Visitations are restricted. This includes Hickory Grove Supportive Living and Maple Grove Memory Care Community
Hy-Vee Grocery Stores: Hours reduced to 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. In-store dining areas are closed.
Illinois: Governor J.B. Pritzker has ordered the state's residents to remain in their homes except for essential needs. Pritzker's order will still allow the state's residents to seek essentials including groceries and medicine. The order took effect Saturday, March 21, 2020.
Also in Illinois, the state has launched Coronavirus.illinois.gov, which the state said has breaking updates from state government, prevention and preparation tips, frequently asked questions, and resources from public health experts.
Illinois Department of Public Health: The department has set up a web page with updated information about coronavirus disease in the state. Click here to see the page.
Illinois School Districts: Closed through at least April 8 on order of the governor.
Illinois Secretary of State: All Driver Services facilities are closed through April 7 (updated from previous target date of March 31).
Illinois Symphony Orchestra: All concerts and events scheduled through June 6, 2020 are postponed or canceled.
Iowa: Governor Kim Reynolds issued a State of Public Health Disaster Emergency, activating the public health response and recovery aspects of the State Disaster Emergency Plan. She released a video statement that can be viewed here.
Iowa Department of Corrections: Visiting has been canceled at all state prisons until further notice.

Keokuk Public Library: Closed through April 12.
Knox College: Classes will be held remotely for the entire spring term. Details can be found here.
Knox County 708 Mental Health Board: Chair Greg Bacon has directed that the due date for applications for grants from the Mental Health Board has been extended until May 15, 2020. Please contact Chair Bacon or Secretary Steve Watts with any questions.
Knox County Courthouse: Restricted access until further notice. More details can be found here.

Knox County YMCA: Temporarily ceased operations.
Knox-Rootabaga Jazz Festival: Canceled for this year.
Learning Is ForEver (LIFE) courses in Macomb: Canceled for the remainder of the spring.
Lee County: Buildings owned by the county are closed to the public. The county is recommending social distancing. More information can be found here.
Lee County Attorney’s office remains open but is limiting contact with the public. Details can be found here.
Lee County Board of Supervisors issued a local disaster declaration. Public services will continue. Contact information and the disaster declaration can be found here.
Lee County Health Department: TB clinics and immunization clinics are temporarily suspended.
(UPDATE March 23) The Lee County Health Department is recommending social distancing.
Legacy Theater: The box office is closed until April 8, unless further restrictions are issued. The following events at The Legacy Theater have been canceled: Evening In The Round with Linda Davis on March 28, a free movie Toy Story 2 on April 4, Riders In The Sky on April 24, and Lincoln: The Great Communicator on May 7.
Loaves & Fishes in Macomb: Closed indefinitely. Food in the storeroom will be used by Genesis Garden. You can find more details here.
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP): The application deadline has been extended to June 30, 2020.
Macomb: Access to City Hall is restricted. The city plans to provide regular updates on its website.
Also in Macomb, Waste Management has postponed the Citywide Cleanup scheduled for mid-May, and the Vietnam Veterans Day reception is canceled.
Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce: The office will not be open to walk-ins through March 31. The Chamber is still available via phone and e-mail between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Updated information from the Chamber can be found here.
Macomb Arts Center: Closed through April 4.
Macomb Downtown Development: The Park 'n' Cruise scheduled for Friday, May 1 is canceled.
Macomb Food Cooperative: The April 4 “Taste of the Co-op” event is postponed.
UPDATE March 24: the Macomb Food Cooperative will be open only for orders by phone and curbside delivery. The store’s new limited hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from Noon to 3:00 p.m. The phone number is 309-255-5572.
Macomb Park District: (UPDATED March 21) All playgrounds, fitness areas, and athletic fields are closed until further notice.
Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum in Hannibal: Closed indefinitely.
McDonough County: The courthouse is open by appointment only from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please contact each individual office holder to make an appointment. You will be able to enter through the East handicap entrance. All other entrances are closed. You will be screened upon arrival. If you have traveled recently or have a temperature please do not schedule an appointment.

McDonough County Board: The board will not hold any committee meetings in April. All business will be conducted during the the full board meeting scheduled for April 15, 2020.

McDonough County Sheriff’s Department: No jail visitations until April 4. All volunteer-managed programs are canceled until further notice. If possible, call the department (309-833-2323) rather than coming to the office.
McDonough District Hospital: The MDH Convenience Clinic for walk-in patients is temporarily removed from the MDH Family Clinic and into the former Internal Medicine clinic. The new location will remain inside Health Services Building 2, but on the first floor.
Memorial Hospital: The Women & Family Medical Group clinic is temporarily moved to the Memorial Medical Clinic in Carthage.
Mississippi Valley Council Scouting: All district and council activities and events are either cancelled, postponed, or will be conducted virtually through March 30.
Missouri: The state has launched a telephone hotline staffed by medical professionals for people seeking guidance on the novel coronavirus. The state health department said people can call 877-435-8411 at any time on any day.
Monmouth: City Hall is closed to the public until March 30. Employees will still be available via phone and email. On March 31, Mayor Rod Davies issued an open letter to the community, which you can find on the city's website.
Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce: All events for March and the beginning of April are postponed. This includes the Trade/Home Show and the Monmouth on the Move Luncheon.
Monmouth College: All classes are canceled March 16-20. Classes will resume under a Flexible Plan on Monday, March 23. The Flexible Plan will remain in place for the rest of the semester. Details about the Flexible Plan can be found here.
(UPDATE March 19) Monmouth College said it is postponing its 2020 Commencement. The college said it remains committed to holding an in-person, on-campus Commencement at some point this year. Read more about the decision here.
Also from Monmouth College: a virtual worship service to help keep the community connected and spiritually fed will be offered March 22 and March 29. The Monmouth College Chaplain's Office, Faith United Presbyterian Church in Monmouth and Sugar Tree Grove United Presbyterian Church in rural Warren County are collaborating on this. A recorded service will be uploaded to the YouTube channel of Monmouth College (youtube.com/MonmouthCollege) at 10:30 a.m. the next two Sundays.
Nauvoo Historic Sites: Tours and activities have been temporarily halted at the 19th century historical sites in Nauvoo owned and operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This also includes the Historic Carthage Jail in Carthage.
Ninth Judicial Circuit in west central Illinois has made changes to its operations. Details can be found here.
Orpheum Theatre: Closed until further notice. The Glenn Miller Orchestra performance scheduled for April has been rescheduled for Sunday, August 16 at 2:30 p.m. The T. Graham Brown concert scheduled for May 9 will be rescheduled.

Prairie Players Civic Theatre: Closed until April 11.

All at the college, the annual SCC Foundation Great Tastes event is rescheduled to take place Friday, May 1, at the PZAZZ! Entertainment Complex in Burlington.
Spoon River College: Spring semester classes will be moved online or in an alternative delivery for the remainder of the term. More information can be found here.

Warren County: The county board and committees will not be holding their April meetings. The Executive Committee (3 committee chairs and Chairman Reichow) will meet on Wednesday, April 8 at 9:30 a.m. to review and pay bills.
Weather spotter classes: The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has canceled all spotter classes for the remainder of the 2020 Spring.
Wesley United Methodist Church in Macomb: Congregational worship suspended until further notice.
West Burlington: Access is being limited to the City Hall and Police Department lobby. You can find more details from the city here.
Also in West Burlington, all park playgrounds and play structures are closed until further notice.
Western Illinois Museum: Closed until further notice.
Western Illinois Regional Council: Many services are still available though new procedures are in place. Details can be found here.
Western Illinois University: (UPDATED) On March 18 the administration anounced in-person classes will not be held for the remainder of the semester. Classes will resume in the electronic delivery formats of the instructor's choice beginning Saturday, March 21 and continue in this format for the remainder of the Spring semester. All WIU events through April 30 have been canceled or postponed.
WIU libraries are closed to the public until further notice.
WIU Food Pantry: Normal hours of operation have been suspended, but open hours will be announced on a week-by-week basis, and listed on the pantry's Facebook and Instagram pages.
West Point: The city is restricting public traffic by locking the front door of City Hall until further notice. Utility payments will be taken through the city's drop box system or through the Postal Service. Reminder notices will be sent, but late payment fees will be forgiven until May 1, 2020. Business can be conducted by appointment, if required, by calling (319) 837-6313.
YMCA Senior Center in Macomb and its two outlying meal sites in Bushnell and Colchester: No congregate meals until further notice. Seniors may pick-up their meal at the YMCA Senior Center, or if circumstances allow, a meal may be delivered. Please call to make arrangements. Seniors can still visit the Senior Center for assistance and AARP Tax Prep appointments but everyone needs to make an appointment so there is no congestion. Please don’t come early.
