Live Music Returns to Peace of Earth Lodge

A co-owner of Peace of Earth Lodge near Rushville said that after a year-plus of the pandemic, it's time for a return to live music. The lodge will host a concert at its outdoor amphitheater on Saturday, June 26, 7:00 p.m., to support a couple local organizations.

“Everybody’s had a hard time this year and we want people to get out, relax, and enjoy themselves in a safe setting,” Pat Sullivan said.

Admission is a free will donation for the concert featuring Sally Weisenburg and Don Berbaum. “We hope people will be generous,” Sullivan said.

The money raised will be split between the Schuyler County Humane Society and the Rushville HELP Center (Humanitarian Efforts for Local People), which is a local thrift store and food pantry.

“Both of those organizations are very involved. They are run with volunteers and donations,” Sullivan said, noting HELP serves 350-450 people each month.

She said those attending the concert should bring lawn chairs and/or blankets. They can also bring the beverages of their choice.  She said there will be plenty of room on the lawn to spread out so they are only asking people to wear masks in common areas such as restrooms.

The musicians, Sally Weisenberg and Don Berbaum, play a variety of styles, including blues, rock, jazz, country, and Latin.
