Democratic Congresswoman Cheri Bustos is not seeking another term after representing the district for the past decade. The Illinois State Board of Elections lists seven Democratic candidates hoping to replace her:
- Jonathan Logemann
- Jacqueline McGowan
- Marsha Williams
- Linda McNeely
- Angie Normoyle
- Eric Sorensen
- Litesa Wallace
Tri States Public Radio, other Illinois public radio stations, local chapters of the League of Women Voters, and three chapters of the NAACP are sponsoring the May 3 forum.
It will be held at Bradley University in Peoria. In-person attendance will be limited to the first 100 people who arrive.
Early voting for the primary begins May 19. Primary election day is June 28.
The winner of the Democratic primary will face the winner of the Republican primary. The elections board lists two candidates for the Republican primary: Esther Joy King and Charles Helmick, Jr.
