McDonough District Hospital, which is based in Macomb, will open a new healthcare clinic in Monmouth.

President and CEO Brian Dietz said MDH has more than 1,000 patients from the Monmouth area, even though the hospital has no facilities north of Bushnell.

Dietz said the new clinic will provide a convenience for those patients.

The facility will open Monday, October 3, 2022, at the location of the former Cottage Hospital Monmouth Clinic.

The MDH clinic will offer Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation five days a week. In addition, providers from the Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic and the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic will see outpatients one or two days a month.

MDH, which is a non-profit, also plans to open a Convenience Care Clinic in Monmouth, though that won’t happen until sometime after October 3.
