A Maquon woman pleaded not guilty on charges she concealed a dead body in a storage unit.
Marcy Oglesby, 50, appeared in Knox County court Monday and waived her right to a preliminary hearing, after being unshackled by a sheriff’s deputy.
She is represented by a public defender and remains in custody at the Knox County jail.
Authorities investigating a report of a suspicious odor discovered badly decomposed human remains on Oct. 7 in a storage unit across the street from Oglesby’s house in Maquon.
Oglesby was treated for a medical condition at a local hospital and then detained on Oct. 12.
She also was arrested on two Fulton County warrants for fraud and deceptive practice.
Ninth Circuit Judge Richard Gambrell set a pre-trial conference in the case for December 5th.
The remains have not yet been identified.
