Police are asking the public so share any information about a fire in the 100 block of East North Street.

The Galesburg police and fire departments are investigating a Monday morning fire that spread to multiple buildings.

Firefighters responded to 120 E. North St. just before 5 a.m. Monday.

The fire consumed a home at that address and spread to structures on three sides of it.

Two buildings and several vehicles including an RV were declared total losses by the fire department.

Sixteen family members lived in an adjacent home that was severely damaged in the fire, according to a Go Fund Me.

The State Fire Marshal’s arson investigator was at the scene on Tuesday morning.

One Galesburg firefighter was taken to OSF St. Mary Medical Center for treatment of burns to his hand and face, and then released.

While firefighters were battling the blaze, there was a water main break near the railroad crossing on North Broad Street.

City officials said the water department took immediate action to minimize any disruptions to water services.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact the police department or call Crime Stoppers at (309)344-0044.
