Film fest weekend in Burlington

The 11th annual Snake Alley Festival of Film (SNAFF) begins Thursday, July 13, in downtown Burlington.

More than 100 short films from around the world will be shown at the Capitol Performing Arts Center.

The Capitol is a restored 1937 Art Deco theater at 211 N. 3rd St.

An awards ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, July 16, which is the final day of the festival.

Tickets are $7 per block of films, $15 for a day pass, and $50 for a festival pass. The festival pass grants access to all the films, table reads, and events throughout the four-day event.

Tickets can be purchased at the box office and online. You can also find the daily schedule online.

Organizers said they received submissions from as close as southeast Iowa and as far as South Africa.
