Authorities arrest Macomb man wanted in 2021 sex abuse case

Authorities have captured a Macomb man who fled the country after being accused of sexual abuse.

According to the McDonough County Sheriff’s Department, detectives executed a search warrant on July 20, 2021 after receiving the complaint against Bruce Black, 55.

Two days later, they learned he had flown to Costa Rica. A warrant for his arrest was issued in August, 2021.

The department worked with several federal agencies to locate Black. He was deported from Costa Rica to the U-S this spring. He was extradited to McDonough County shortly after that.

He’s charged with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse. His bond is $1 million.

His next court date is in mid-September.
