The scene several hours after the March 25 shooting.

A Macomb murder case will not be heard by a jury.

Demond Wilson, Jr., 26, of Calumet Park is charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Jerman Beathea, 26, of Chicago.

Ten people were injured in the shooting, which happened in the early morning hours of March 25 at a house party a few blocks from the Western Illinois University campus.

The jury trial was scheduled to begin Monday, Oct. 16.

But during a pretrial hearing on Wednesday, Wilson waived his right to a jury trial.

He will be back in court on Oct. 18 for a status hearing.
