The first phase of a downtown revitalization project in Monmouth is nearly complete – and the next phase will begin soon.
The city is just about done replacing water mains in each of the public square’s four quadrants.
Now designs have been completed for the next phase, which includesstreetscape beautificationand resurfacing.
Work is expected to begin this summer and be completed by the end of the year.
The streetscape beautification project is funded by a $3 million Rebuild Illinois grant.
