Keokuk Group Still Seeking Public Input

Keokuk, IA – The 40 member committee developing a long-range vision for Keokuk still needs public input before any plan can develop. About 15 residents attended the only public meeting to be held by the Keokuk Area Vision committe. The panel is creating a plan for how Keokuk should look in 5-10 years. Committee member, Joe Steil, says the primary method used by residents to express their ideas has been through a community survey being distributed throughout Keokuk. He says the responses have been positive. Over 125 surveys have already been turned in. Steil says they will be accepted for another 3-4 weeks, adding that no survey will be denied after that time. He says the goal is to receive 300 to 500 surveys. The final results of the Keokuk Area Vision plan could be available early next year.
