Nashville-based indie-folk artist Remi Goode will perform at Ca d’Zan House Concerts in Cambridge on Friday, September 11. Presented by Crossroads Cultural Connections, the all-ages concert will begin at 7 p.m., following an optional community potluck dinner at 6 p.m. Bishop Hill Creative Commons will serve as the rain location.

Pronounced “RAY-mee,” Goode is a classically trained nylon-string guitarist and lifelong vocalist whose music moves between intimate folk, alternative Americana and expansive full-band arrangements. Her debut album, Things I’ve Said Before, introduces an artist equally comfortable with quiet, bedroom-recorded songs and cinematic studio performances.

Raised in Tucson, Arizona, Goode grew up listening to songwriters including Suzanne Vega, Kathleen Edwards and Sarah Harmer. She combined those influences with classical guitar training and years of vocal performance with the Tucson Girls Chorus, eventually developing a sound that draws from American roots music while pushing beyond traditional genre boundaries.

Goode’s longtime collaborator Gabe Lehrer plays an important role in her musical world as guitarist, engineer and mixer. Together with a small group of musicians, they developed the songs that became Things I’ve Said Before, blending acoustic textures with fiddle, intertwined guitars, layered harmonies and rhythmic full-band arrangements.

The album reflects Goode’s interest in contrast and complexity. Some songs are warm, sparse and deeply personal, while others open into broader, more electrified arrangements. That range mirrors the themes in her songwriting, which often explore ambiguity, contradiction and the challenge of finding clarity without forcing every experience into a simple conclusion.

Guests are invited to arrive at 6 p.m. for the optional potluck dinner and may bring a dish to share. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. A donation of $20 to $30 is suggested, and music lovers of all ages are welcome.
