Pieces include For a Beautiful Land by Linda Coleman, Dusk by Steven Bryant, Overture to Orpheus in the Underworld and a medley of songs from the Sound of Music. Also featured will be a world premiere of Willow by Jordan Jinosko featuring Dr. Nicole Gillotti, trumpet professor at WIU.

Since 1995, the Knox-Rootabaga Jazz Festival has kicked off the weekend early with the Knox Faculty and Friends Combo Jam Session. This collection of musicians represents the vibrant live jazz scene in central Illinois, showcasing the world-class talents of Knox jazz instructors and professional jazz performers from the Quad Cities, Galesburg, Peoria, and many points between. It is a rare pleasure to bring so many area performers together on one stage for this annual event, and the group never fails to inspire audiences, reminding us of the rich musical culture we have right here in our hometowns. Featuring:Justin Haynes, Joel Linscheid, Steve Jackson, Zoë Rose, Semenya McCord, Jason Brannon, Nikki Malley, Andy Crawford, Whitney Ashe, Jim Curless, Corey Kendrick and More!

For over four decades,the Knox-Rootabaga Jazz Festival, or “‘Baga” as it’s known to fans, has been a true celebration and affirmation of the unique spirit of the Galesburg community— a “small'' community that has achieved the rare accomplishment of sustaining and growing an annual jazz festival of national renown. The festival reflects a unique collaboration between schools, businesses, and the Galesburg community. The greatest jazz artists from around the world have graced the stages of Rootabaga. 100 Years of Broadway recreates the greatest moments from the finest shows of the century featuring the actual stars of shows such as The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, CATS, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Jekyll & Hyde. Backed by Neil and a small musical combo, three amazing Broadway performers light up the stage with songs from the hit shows in which they starred. Neil Berg presents brilliantly revived arrangements of Broadway classics as well as thrilling numbers from Broadway's newest hit shows.

The Keokuk Concert Association is hosting a concert, "Jared Freiburg and the Vagabonds", celebrating the early years of rock & roll with songs from Elvis to Sinatra to Jerry Lee Lewis on Sunday, May 11th at 4:00 PM. The concert will be held at the Keokuk Grand Theatre.
Admission options include a Keokuk season ticket, or a $25 at the door cost for adults. Kids and students are free.
