Carl Sandburg State Historic Site at 313 E. Third Street in Galesburg will host John Daniel
Lane on March 12, from 2pm to 4pm. The first set starts at 2:00pm, and the second starts at 3:15.
Refreshments served between sets. This performance will kick off the 2023 Songbag Concert
Series.  

Hailing from Western Illinois, John Daniel Lane has sampled a variety of music styles.
Playing a style once labeled as "raw baroque Midwest square-dance jams," John’s set will feature
traditional music and original songs on both guitar and fiddle. His performance will take the
listener on a journey through place and time, delivering a heartfelt performance of timeless songs
and the stories that surround them

Songbag Concerts are presented by the Carl Sandburg Historic Site Association and
Illinois Department of Natural Resources. A donation of $5 per person is suggested to offset the
cost of the performer.
