WiM’s Blind Swine Speakeasy Featuring Gina DeGregorio and the Lamoine River Ramblers
Keep it under your hat, kiddo, but there’s a door on the south side of the Western Illinois Museum’s old garage that just might lead to the swellest night in town. On Saturday, November 21st, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m., the Blind Swine Speakeasy opens for one hush-hush evening. The bar opens at 6:00 sharp, provided you know the password.
Grab a date and don’t miss diva Gina DeGregorio and the Lamoine River Ramblers, who will serve up vintage jazz hot enough to get you out of your seat. Gina is the real McCoy, a headliner with pipes that could stop a streetcar and a stage presence that makes the whole room sit up straight. She’ll have you swooning one minute and hollering for more the next, with the Ramblers backing her up every step of the way. Before you take the floor, Elizabeth Cheney and dance partner Sam Solano will teach you the Charleston, the foxtrot, and a little early swing, so even a wallflower can cut a rug.
