Memorial Hospital and Carthage Public Library are excited to announce a collaborative effort to host a series of “Story Time and Snack Making” workshops. These workshops will introduce children to healthy eating habits and the importance of nutrition in fueling their bodies. These workshops will combine the joy of story time with interactive snack crafting activities, providing a fun and educational experience for young participants.
The workshops will take place at the Memorial Hospital Health & Wellness Center, located on the Memorial Hospital campus, on June 5, July 3, and August 7 from 10 AM to 11 AM. This free series of events is open to preschoolers through incoming 2nd graders. Each session can accommodate up to 20 children, who must be accompanied by an adult.

The City of Macomb, Office of Downtown Development announces the 2024 Downtown Summer Concert Series starting Wednesday, June 5 2024. Bill Maakestad will kick off the 2024 season from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at the gazebo in Chandler Park in Macomb's Historic Downtown.
Attendees are asked to bring their lunch and lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on to enjoy the entertainment in Chandler Park. Starting this year, the City of Macomb is partnering with the Western Illinois Museum to serve as the concert's rain location in the event of inclement weather. Information will be distributed on the morning of the performance to media and community members if the concert will be moved to the museum located at 201 S. Lafayette Street.

The Jefferson Street Farmers Market will be starting Thursday May 23, running through May to September. Local produce, baked goods, canned goods, plants, regional crafts, and live entertainment is offered.
They will hold a special event week where people can compete in challenges

The 21st annual Park N' Cruise is being held in Downtown Macomb at Chandler Park. They will have evenings of classic cars and live music. This event is free and open to the public.

The Macomb Park District is showing Jurassic Park (1993) at veterans park. There will be free popcorn and drinks provided by First Bankers Trust Company.
The movie is rated PG-13 and it starts showing at 8:30 PM.

The Macomb Farmers Market returns to Historic Downtown Macomb’s Chandler Park each Saturday morning, from 8:00 a.m. to Noon, starting on Saturday, May 4 through October 19. Now in its 49th year, the Market’s vendors offer an array of fresh produce, baked goods, honey & jams, meats, Amish goods, fresh flowers, hand-crafted items, and much more — all sold to you by the people who produced them.
The Galesburg Farmers' Market will be starting May 18, 2024.
The Farmers' Market will be near the corner of Simmons and Seminary every Saturday from 8-12, May through September
The market will have local goods like fruits and vegetables, meat and eggs, honey, baked good and prepared foods, handmade crafts and jewelry, and more.
The Quincy Farmers Market will be starting May 18, Saturday and will be running every week from May until October. The Farmers Market will be held at Washington park.
The Farmers Market will have a variety of local goods and services.
Spoon carving (along with the carving of scoops, spatulas, bowls, plates, etc.) was a necessary craft that was passed down generationally during frontier times and is making a resurgence today. We are excited to share this experience with the community -- Mark your calendars with Southeastern Iowa Spoonfest – for June 8th and 9th in Central Park. The Art Center is in the planning stages now. Be looking for more information on this exciting new event in the coming months, including how to register for a booth if you are a carver or how to register for a carving classes to learn how to carve your own spoon. During Spoonfest there will be booths of area carvers, demonstrations, and classes throughout the weekend. Registrants who sign up with the Art Center for a carving class that weekend will be provided with their own carving tools and taught the basics of carving a spoon.
