Dancing Queen: An ABBA Salute is performing in historic Bishop Hill, IL!
The Bishop Hill Heritage Association is pleased to announce that an ABBA tribute band will be performing at 1 p.m. in the village park in Bishop Hill IL on Sunday July 12, 2026 for free.
Please bring lawn chairs and enjoy this Las Vegas type show! DANCING QUEEN: An ABBA Salute is the ultimate tribute to the music of ABBA – sure to capture the hearts of fans and audiences of all ages! This live show is full of musical precision, fabulous flair and fashion, and promises a mesmerizing ABBA experience for every Chiquitita, Super Trouper, Fernando, and Dancing Queen around! Fronted by a dynamic Agnetha and Frida duo, the music of the greatest pop band in history comes to life in a joyful celebration of these timeless tunes. “DANCING
QUEEN: An ABBA Salute” is the Midwest’s longtime #1 ABBA tribute, with a repertoire of over 30 all-time favorite hits. From Waterloo to Mamma Mia, SOS to Knowing Me Knowing You, Honey Honey to Voulez-Vous, audiences won’t be able to help singing and dancing along with this high-energy homage to everything ABBA! The Dancing Queen concert is free and open to the public, due to the financial support of the Community State Bank, Barbro Osher Pro Suecia Foundation, Minneapolis Foundation, Illinois Arts Council, and the Bishop Hill Heritage Association. The Western Illinois University Summer Percussion Orchestra will present a free concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 12, in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall. In its third year of existence, the ensemble has 30 alumni and current students. The stage will be filled to the brim with orchestral, world, marching, and jazz percussion instruments. The dynamic program includes works from movies, video games, jazz, and pop genres.

Celebrating 105 Years!
The market emphasizes locally grown produce and products, ensuring that all items are sourced from Illinois growers. This focus on local sourcing helps to reduce transportation emissions and supports the regional economy.The market welcomes new vendors and offers a variety of goods, including fruits, vegetables, baked and canned goods, as well as artwork and crafts. It operates between 3 and 6 PM, making it accessible for afternoon and early evening shoppers.

The Downtown Summer Concert Series is back for another season of afternoon entertainment in Chandler Park beginning Wednesday, June 3, 2026. The season will start with a performance by Bill Maakastad starting at 12:00 p.m. in the Chandler Park Gazebo. Guests are encouraged to bring their lunch, along with a lawn chair or blanket to sit and enjoy the concert.
Performances for the 2026 season include: June 3 – Bill Maakastad, June 10 - Prairieland Barbershop Chorus, June 17 – The Bayou Prowlers, July 1 – King Neptune Band, July 8 - SummerStage, July 15 -Rooftop Swing Band, July 22 – Nauvoo Pageant Bagpipe Band, and July 29 – Troublesome Ridge Bluegrass Band. All performances will begin at 12:00 p.m. and conclude at 1:00 PM.
In the event of inclement weather, the Western Illinois Museum will serve as the alternate concert location, located at 201 S. Lafayette Street. Any change in venue will be announced the morning of the event through local media and community channels.
