Join us at *Homestead 1839’s barn (701 West Agency, West Burlington), the first Friday of the month, to spread out, cozy up, and share in your love of reading. You can choose to socialize and share what you’re reading (or not!) and enjoy mocktails and light appetizers. Registration requested.

Citizens Lake Fireworks DisplayThen join the city for a fireworks celebration! Located at Citizens Lake Recreation Area beginning at dusk (9:00pm)

The Farmer’s Market is a true grower’s market. Products that are allowed for sale are directly grown, baked, or produced by the person who is setting up at the market. The market generally features for purchase fresh vegetables and fruits, meat, baked goods, flowers and plants, pumpkins, gourds, and more! Visitors can also enjoy live music on select Saturdays and free coffee at every market!
Carthage, IL – Memorial Hospital is proud to invite community members of all ages to kick off their Independence Day with movement, connection, and fun at the FOCUS Fitness Family Fun Run/Walk. Taking place on July 4, this family-friendly event begins at 8:00 AM, with check-in starting promptly at 7:30 AM. The run/walk will start and end at FOCUS Fitness Gym, located at 103 Randolph St, Carthage, IL 62321.
Designed to celebrate health, happiness, and community, this event welcomes participants of all fitness levels. There is no pressure to compete—no chip timing and no prizes—just an opportunity to enjoy physical activity together in a supportive, encouraging environment.
Registration is $15 per person in advance. Day-of registration will be available for $20 per person (cash ONLY please, or registrants can pay online with their phones).
