Auditions for the Missoula Children's Theatre production of Treasure Island at The Legacy Theater in Carthage, will be held on Monday, July 21, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
Those auditioning should arrive at 9:45 a.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. The cast announcement will be made that same day. Some cast members will be asked to stay for a first rehearsal immediately following the audition.
Rehearsals will continue Tuesday through Friday, July 22 to 25, from 10 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. at The Legacy Theater. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the audition.
Performances will be held on Saturday, July 26, at 2 and 6 p.m. at The Legacy Theater.
There are roles for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. Among the roles to be cast are Jim Hawkins, his mother and sisters, a rollicking pirate crew, Jim’s Ruffian friends, seacoast mariners, shining treasures, a mysterious stranger, and cuddly gulls.
This is a group audition. No advance preparation is necessary.
Approximately 50 local students will be cast to appear in the show. Up to four students will be cast as assistant directors. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play.
The Missoula Children's Theatre touring productions come complete with costumes, scenery, and props.
Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, students who audition must have a clear schedule for the entire week, and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role and be available for all scheduled performances.

The Missoula Children's Theatre is a non-profit organization based in Missoula, Mont. This coming year they will help more than 65,000 student cast members take the stage.
