Gannett's Print Circulation and Revenues Tumble

An article in Poynter reported that Gannett says its digital subscriptions grew by 145,000 in the second quarter. But at the same time, Gannett's circulation revenue fell 9.4% compared to the same quarter in 2020.

The Poynter article said print circulation and the revenue it generates are falling fast while new revenue from digital is not yet making up the difference.

This information is of particular interest because Gannett is the nation’s largest newspaper company and it owns many of the newspapers in this region.
