The woman accused of stabbing a man several times on Friday will remain in the McDonough County jail while awaiting her next hearing.

Keianna Miller, 38, is charged with aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Police were called to a home in the 200 block of East Wheeler Street around 6:45 a.m. on June 6. A man in the home told them Miller repeatedly stabbed him with a streak knife in the kitchen.

He suffered puncture wounds and lacerations to his back, chest, and left arm. He was taken to McDonough District Hospital, where he was treated and released.

In denying pretrial release on Monday afternoon, Judge Heidi Benson said she believed Miller posed a threat to the man and the community.

She also said Miller appeared to be on release from a battery case in Indiana.

A preliminary hearing for Miller was scheduled for June 23.
