Live in Ward 3 and want to serve on the Galesburg city council?
Now is your chance.
Mayor Peter Schwartzman is accepting applications through Jan. 15 to fill the seat vacated by the resignation of Evan Miller. The term runs through May 2027.
Schwartzman is asking those interested to fill out the following questionnaire, and return it via email (pschwart@ci.galesburg.il.us) by 10 p.m. Jan. 15.
He said sitting city council members will then have a week to reach out to candidates and ask them questions.
Schwartzman will select a candidate to be approved by the council.
