Changes are coming to the leadership team at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
In a release issued Tuesday afternoon, the hospital said President and Chief Executive Officer Bill Murdock will transition out of that role in 60 days. The release said the MDH Board of Directors and Murdock will work together to ensure a smooth transition.
MDH Spokesperson Patrick Osterman declined to comment on whether Murdock will remain with the hospital, saying it’s a “personnel related matter.”
Murdock came to MDH in April 2019 as vice president and chief financial officer. He became interim president and CEO in December 2023, and had “interim” removed from his title five months later.
The hospital also announced that Wayne Laramie is no longer vice president and chief nursing officer and is no longer with the hospital.
MDH has been in the spotlight lately after Murdock announced plans to terminate the hospital’s contract with Lifeguard Ambulance, threatening to leave the county without ambulance service.
The two sides later reached agreement on a new, one year contract that went into effect this month.
