Daniel Watson, a former teacher and boys basketball coach at Macomb High School, faces two more charges stemming from an alleged relationship with a female student who was 17 years old at the time.

He was arrested last August on a charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. He has been charged with another count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and a count of official misconduct.

Watson's attorney, Scott Terry, filed a bill of particulars to get more information on the new charges. He also asked for a continuance to allow him to evaluate data recovered from Watson's computer by an Illinois State Police lab.

Judge Bill Poncin said state law required him to consider the how the extension would affect the alleged victim. State's Attorney James Hoyle said while she was under stress he had informed her of the possibility the trial could be delayed. He did not object to the continuance.

A preliminary hearing on the motions and additional charges will be held April 17th. The jury trial date has been set for April 30th. It could be delayed depending on the result of next week's hearing.
