Upcoming Fundraiser for Prairie Land Conservancy

www.razoo.com

The Prairie Land Conservancy strives to protect habitat and natural areas in west central Illinois. The organization wants to include more people in its efforts.

The Conservancy is getting ready for its 3rd Annual "Extending the Prairie Table" fundraising dinner. The organizers describe it as one "you won't want to miss."

Spokesperson Amber Patrick said the event has many other functions beyond just raising money.

"Not only do we host the fundraiser to fund our stewardship funds, but we also host it to get people aware of the Prairie Lands Conservancy, to gain new members and interest in what we're really doing in the community."

The Conservancy uses the money raised to complete its mission among ten counties, including Hancock and McDonough.

The fundraiser will be held at the Lewis Family Barn in Good Hope on September 7th.  Tickets are $75.

Appetizers will be cooked by Magnolia's and dinner will be served by the Tri-County Cattlemen's Association. Wines from Ridgeview Wineries and craft beer from Engrained Brewing Company will also be on the menu.

Local art will be auctioned, and a tour of the Lewis Farm will be offered to those interested.
