Galesburg Bank Robbery Suspect Caught

City of Galesburg

It did not take long for Galesburg police to identify a suspect in the robbery of F & M Bank, 21 East Main St.

The man was caught after a patrol officer recognized him from the bank’s security video.

Tyson Stevens, 37, of 389 Illinois Avenue in Galesburg, is charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1-15 grams, and Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver.

The robbery happened Saturday morning.

Police said Stevens used a note handed to a teller to imply he had a weapon and to demand money.  He left after the teller complied with the demand.

Police said no weapon was displayed.
