OSF Galesburg Clinic Renovations Underway

T.J. Carson
The renovations to the OSF Galesburg Clinic are part of an overall effort on the campus, which also includes work on the chapel and critical care unit.

The OSF Galesburg Clinic will receive a makeover as part of the first major work done to the facility since it opened in 1970.

The $12-million project will include the addition of 40 exam and clinic rooms that feature state-of-the-art equipment.

The work is expected to take between 12-18 months to complete.

Site Manager Rae Fletcher said medical services will also be added as part of the expansion. “We are going to bring in podiatry. We’re also going to look at bringing in endocrinology and diabetes center,” Fletcher said.

The clinic will remain open during construction, but some departments will be sharing space. Fletcher said some departments and offices will keep Saturday office hours to assist patients during the remodel.

Fletcher said the additional space for patients and expansion in medical services will help meet the health care demands of  a growing community.

“They have learned to trust OSF, and we want to make sure that we’re not just around for them now, but for the future generations to come,” Fletcher said.
