Biller was let go Friday. The university would only say it was a personnel matter.  When asked if it was a cost-saving measure, the spokesperson again declined comment, saying it’s a personnel matter.

Biller was paid $183,960 last fiscal year and was making the same amount this year.

He came to WIU in 2011 after serving as Arkansas Tech University’s vice president for student services, a position he had held since 2000. He had also worked at Dickinson State University in North Dakota, the University of Alabama in Huntsville, the University of Kansas, and Wichita State University.

WIU named Ronald Williams as interim vice president for student services.  He had been assistant vice president for academic affairs at Western.
