U.S. Rep. Cheri Bustos says she has recovered from COVID-19.
The Moline Democrat completed 10 days of self-isolation following her initial symptoms. She said she's currently exhibiting no symptoms, and is able to return to her lawmaking duties after following the guidance of her doctor and the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Bustos said she only experienced mild symptoms and was able to continue working remotely from home during her isolation period.
Her positive COVID-19 diagnosis was publicly disclosed on Monday.
Bustos encouraged Illinoisans to wear a mask, practice social distancing, and wash their hands to prevent the spread of the virus.
Bustos is the third Illinois congressional lawmaker to receive a positive COVID-19 test.
