New options for walk-in healthcare are coming to Monmouth and Galesburg.

McDonough District Hospital opened a health clinic in Monmouth this fall, and will now offer walk-in services at that location.

The MDH Convenience Clinic in Monmouth opens Tuesday and will see patients 18 months and older for illnesses and minor injuries five days a week.

Jennifer Lemaster, FNP-C, will see patients in the new clinic. She formerly worked for Eagle View Community Health and as director for the emergency department at Cottage Hospital.

The MDH Convenience Clinic is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

While MDH’s Monmouth location also has sports medicine; ear nose and throat; and gynecology services available by appointment, the new clinic will provide care for conditions from cold, flu, and minor asthma attacks to sprains, strains, and rashes.

MDH also operates a Convenience Clinic in Macomb.

In Galesburg, OSF HealthCare is opening an OnCall Urgent Care Clinic this month.

Like OSF PromptCare, which is now in the former Cottage Hospital, OnCall offers walk-in services for illnesses and injuries that do not require a trip to the emergency department.

But OnCall clinics have a more modern setting with the feel of a lounge or cafe, and are typically located near residential neighborhoods or shopping areas.

The Galesburg OnCall Clinic will be at 2779 Volunteer Drive, Suite 201, near the Walmart Supercenter.

Lisa DeKezel, President of OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg and OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth, said there is a growing need for high-quality, convenient healthcare.

“I am thrilled we will soon be able to offer this service in the Galesburg community,” she said.

The Galesburg OnCall Urgent Care Clinic is expected to open Dec. 20, and will see patients from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., every day of the year.
